Do I need a drill to use Hex Pegs? +
Yes. Hex Pegs are designed to be used with a cordless drill or impact driver. Most campers and caravanners already carry cordless tools for stabiliser legs and general repairs, so it's usually one you already own. The 15mm hex socket is included with every pack.
Do Hex Pegs work on sand or really soft ground? +
For compacted sand or sandy-based soil, the Long Hook Tops and Long Flat Tops work well. For very soft sand or wet, soft soil, the 400mm SandnSnow pegs are what you need. They're designed specifically for those conditions.
What lengths are available? +
Two lengths are available: 285mm (Long) and 160mm (Short). Use the Long for soft ground, grass, and anything prone to updraft. Use the Short for harder ground types or for anchoring ground sheets and tent bases where the extra length is not needed. SandnSnow pegs are 400mm for very soft conditions.
Can Hex Pegs be used with trace springs and guy ropes? +
Yes. Trace Springs fit on the Hook Tops directly or can be anchored underneath the head of Flat Tops. They work with all standard guy rope configurations.
Do they work in very hard ground? +
Yes. Hex Pegs can be used with a hammer drill on hard ground types. If the ground is extremely hard or rocky, pre-drill pilot holes using an 8mm masonry drill bit (preferably 200mm long) before drilling in the Hex Pegs.
